Hello! Thank you for visiting. I’m Dr Nigel Fletcher, a political historian, lecturer and writer. I currently teach politics and contemporary history at King’s College London, and am also an experienced political practitioner.
I have a wide interest in the study of politics and contemporary British history, with published books, articles in UK national newspapers and appearances on broadcast news and current affairs programmes providing commentary on political and constitutional issues. I have a particular specialism in the study of political opposition, and am the co-founder of the Centre for Opposition Studies.
In my career I have worked for senior politicians, been a policy adviser, and have served in elected office myself. This experience helps me to bring a degree of practical knowledge to my work as a researcher and writer.
On this site you can find details of my experience and links to some of my writing and other work.
